Africa Foundation (rebranded July 2024 as Wild Impact) celebrated its as 25th year in May, 2017. Members of the community, andBeyond employees, members of the Wild Impact team, Wild Impact Trustees, finalists of the inaugural Wild Impact Robin James Award with distinguished guests and Nkosi Gumede all gathered at Zuka House to celebrate this 25 year landmark in Wild Impact’s timeline.
Dave Varty’s vision ignited the inception of Wild Africa back in 1992 and he delivered a captivating speech that took the audience through the 25 year journey, from his initial idea to the current achievements of the foundation’s mission in partnership with andBeyond.
The mission, “empowering communities and enabling conservation” has been executed by dedicated community members across 6 African countries in 68 communities. Their tenacity and talents were recognised through the Robin James Award. The first Wild Impact Robin James Award was bestowed on Mrs Nomusa Zikahli for her truly outstanding contribution to the Nkomo Primary school, Mduku.
